BEAMS is shaking up the streetwear scene with its latest LL Bean collaboration. The Spring/Summer 2023 collection, a collaboration between LL Bean Japan and BEAMS’ BEAMS PLUS and BEAMS BOY sub-labels, is a nod to LL Bean’s archival designs. The vintage-inspired pieces include LL Bean BOGO tees, hats, hoodies, checkered shirts, and preppy shorts embroidered with dancin’ dogs.
The collection’s star pieces, however, are the LL Bean Box Logos. The brilliantly retro basics are brought to life by a campaign featuring two stylishly aged models, who give the quietly cool clothes even more appeal. The entire collection looks dated in a good way, like the kind of clothes you’d find while thrifting.
BEAMS’ LL Bean collaboration capsule is shaped by the concept of “daily wear with a little more flair,” which is both generic and apt for the LL Bean brand. The collection drops on April 15 on BEAMS’ website and in Japanese stores.
LL Bean is mostly fashion-averse, but it knows people love its old stuff. The brand recently revived a selection of vintage gear, and its Boat n’ Tote bags remain a crossover success. Meanwhile, BEAMS is killing it with its killer collaborations with the likes of Arc’teryx, Salomon, and New Era.
