The colorful new SuperOcean, with 300m water resistance, is meant for everything from surfing, swimming, or simply hitting the beach, with Breitling’s Surfer Squad leading the new collection’s campaign.

The new SuperOcean collection, available in four different sizes – 46mm, 44mm, 42mm, and 36mm – includes nods to its simpler past while also including modern concessions like a seconds hand and a ceramic bezel ring.

The cases in the collection are stainless steel, steel/gold, and subtly reactive bronze. The majority of models have unidirectional bezels, but the 46mm sizes have bidirectional bezels with a patented lock.

The watches are offered with folding clasps and micro-adjustment mechanisms on either rubber straps or three-row metal bracelets. The new collection’s references are all powered by the 38-hour power reserve, 4Hz Breitling Calibre 17 automatic movement.

A 42mm limited edition created in collaboration with world-class surfer Kelly Slater is part of the collection. The 1,000-piece edition, which was modeled after a watch Slater’s father wore while surfing, has an orange dial and a military green rubber strap.

“I’ve been co-creating watches with Breitling for the past few years but this one, in particular, is very personal.” Said Slater. “It’s inspired by my late father, who had a watch with an orange face that he used to wear surfing for as long as I can remember. The green and orange together is a color scheme I used to like for the airbrushes on my boards growing up. That combination has always stuck with me.”
