Carhartt WIP’s SS23 Collection Captured Through Youth and Identity

Carhartt WIP explores the dichotomy of the U.K. through its Spring/Summer 2023 campaign, showcasing its signature workwear classics. The campaign, captured by London-based photographer Finnegan Travers, examines the contrast between the country’s harsh and soft environments, from the brutalism of London to the picturesque coastal landscapes of Devon.

The imagery of the campaign depicts a sense of longing and discovery, as three protagonists explore their youth and identity. The black-and-white images are raw and powerful, while the color photography is full of rich hues and oceanic scenes, as well as intimate, voyeuristic moments in bedrooms.

Along with capturing the essence of the U.K., Travers also focuses on the clothes in the campaign. A “Buttercup” yellow sweater crafted from the brand’s signature 440 gsm heavyweight cotton is featured, the perfect layering essential for SS23. The campaign also showcases faded canvas vests, signature Detroit and Michigan jackets, and relaxed jeans, creating a complete Carhartt WIP wardrobe. The SS23 collection is available both online and in-store now.
