Christie’s to auction off a single-owner Patek Philippe collection of 128 watches

This spring, Christie’s will auction a single-owner collection of 128 contemporary Patek Philippe watches all over the world.

Patek Philippe’s Kairos Collection: Exceptional Contemporary Timepieces will be auctioned in three parts, with Part I taking place in Geneva on May 9 and featuring 30 pieces. A Ref. 5959R-001 Split-Seconds Chronograph in rose gold with a black dial and a Ref. 5074R-001 Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar are among the sale’s highlights.

Part II, on May 24, will feature another 30 pieces, including a platinum Ref. 5951P-012 Perpetual Calendar Split-Seconds Chronograph and a rose gold Ref. 5078R-001 Minute Repeater.

On June 8, Christie’s Rockefeller Centre salesrooms in New York will present the remaining 68 pieces of the collection at Part III, showcasing the modern evolution of Perpetual Calendar Chronographs, Split-Chronographs, Métiers d’Art artisanal techniques, World Time references and Complications – and not to be missed highlights that include several Tiffany & Co. dual-signature dials.”

Christie’s describes every watch in the Kairos Collection as being “in exceptional condition, accompanied by its original Certificate of Origin and all associated product literature, presentation box and outer packaging.”

The owner of the collection – which was assembled over 35 years – displayed each of watches in transparent, protective clam-shell-shaped boxes to “preserve its original condition and allow its unencumbered beholding.”

The Kairos Collection will be on display at a series of public previews in New York, Geneva, Dubai, Hong Kong, and San Francisco prior to the sales. More information on The Kairos Collection auctions can be found at Christie’s.
