COMME des GARÇONS Taps Lewis Leathers for Vintage Flight Jacket

Lewis Leathers, a heritage British motorcycle clothing company founded in the late 1800s, has been specializing in leather jackets for 130 years. Many Lewis Leather pieces have become sought-after vintage grails, having been brought into popular culture by icons such as Kate Moss and members of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Arctic Monkeys.

They were worn by RAF pilots up to and during WWII, as well as motorcyclists throughout the ages in Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. COMME des GARÇONS collaborates with Lewis Leathers to create a classic Lightning Tight Fit Jacket in its latest collaboration.

Rei Kawakubo, the founder and designer of CDG, designed the piece, which has a gloss black leather body with white leather sleeves and metallic silver details across the buckles, zippers, and aviation-inspired badges.

The inner lining is made of quilted red fabrics, and an AVIAKIT label is woven and stitched on the upper back. Expandable sleeve cuffs, hidden pockets with custom ball-and-chain zippers, and COMME des GARCONS marker handwriting on the left sleeve complete the look.

The COMME des GARCONS x Lewis Leathers Lightning Tight Fit Jacket is now available for 275,000 JPY (approximately $2,076 USD) at CDG Aoyama.
