“It was important to make the return of DKNY memorable,” says McLellan, the creative eye behind Kaia Gerber’s role in this revival. The ’90s fashion powerhouse is back on the scene, and this time, it’s Kaia Gerber taking center stage.
“Kaia is the perfect fit for DKNY,” McLellan notes. “She’s wonderful, intelligent, and always inspiring.” With Kaia leading the charge, the modeling legacy continues.
Stylist Alastair McKimm and DKNY’s creative director Trey Laird play it cool with the iconic NY Yankees cap as a styling centerpiece. “Using the NY Yankees cap throughout the styling gave everything a cool edge that felt very New York.”
The soundtrack? Deee-Lite’s Deee-Lite Theme, throwing it back to the ’90s NY club scene. “It really anchored the whole project within the heritage of New York City.”
With this laid-back approach and a dream team, the DKNY relaunch is set to bring a touch of nostalgia to the fashion game.
