Ferrari Unveils One-Off F8 Tributo-Based SP48 Unica

Few people get to own a Ferrari, let alone collaborate with the Italian brand’s Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni to create their own one-of-a-kind custom supercar, such as the utterly stunning SP48 Unica.

Based on the Ferrari F8 Tributo, this one-of-a-kind custom build takes the F8’s body and covers it in a new skin, giving the familiar supercar new life. It has the same format and layout as the SP48 Unica — two seats, a twin-turbo V8, and clean lines — but much has been done to distinguish the SP48 Unica from the crowd.

A new arrow-shaped front profile, for example, has been designed to give the car a more aggressive, pointed stance, accentuated by procedural-parametric modeling techniques and 3D prototyping, which allowed Ferrari to redesign and relocate the front grille and engine air intakes.

Elsewhere, the front window appears to blend and fade into the roof, whereas the side windows are noticeably smaller. Instead of a rear window, a body-colored engine cover with strategically placed aerodynamic cut-outs adds optimal airflow to the engine bay beneath.

Inside, specially developed black laser-perforated Alcantara has been used extensively, with the hexagonal design echoing the design of the grille and engine bay cover. Take a look at the Ferrari SP48 Unica above, because it’s likely the last time we’ll see it.
