Hublot has entered the kitchen with a limited edition timepiece crafted from the distinctively patterned steel preferred by the world’s top chefs for knife blades.

The Hublot Big Bang Unico Gourmet is a 200-piece limited edition with a Damascus Steel case and bezel that displays all of the folds that make for some of the most robust steel on the globe, utilized for millennia by armorers and swordsmiths and now used for the best chef’s knives.

The velcro-fastened strap, which is cut from the fabric of chef’s aprons, continues the culinary theme.

Hublot challenged Anne-Sophie Pic and Yannick Alléno, two of its Michelin-starred collaborators, with creating a supper suited for the watch for 100 guests for the watch’s presentation in Paris.

The steel used for the Hublot Big Bang Unico Gourmet is manufactured in Sweden by Damasteel, a folded and hammered blend of 304L and 316L alloys that creates a design that is unique in each use, rather than in the Syrian capital where the method started in 300BC.

The Big Bang Unico Gourmet is currently available for £19,900 GBP (roughly $22,000 USD) via Hublot merchants.
