IWC Expands Its TOP GUN Collection With Two New Ceratanium Watches

A Timezoner and perpetual calendar join the brand’s high performance line.

IWC has added two all-black watches to its TOP GUN Pilot’s watch collection, each of which is encased in the brand’s proprietary Ceratanium material. The matte-black material possesses titanium’s structural integrity and ceramic’s scratch-resistant surface.

The first of the two, the Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Ceratanium, introduces IWC’s Timezoner complication, an easy-to-use worldtimer adjusted by twisting the bezel, to the TOP GUN collection, while the second, the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar TOP GUN Ceratanium, is the first watch from IWC with a Ceratanium bracelet.

The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar TOP GUN Ceratanium is not only lighter than stainless steel, but it also feels better against the skin. The watch is powered by an automatic IWC 52615 calibre, viewable via the caseback’s tinted sapphire crystal, and has a power reserve of seven days thanks to two mainspring barrels.

The Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Ceratanium may be adjusted for different timezones by pressing down and twisting the ceramic bezel, causing the hour hand, 24-hour indication, and date display to move ahead or backwards in one-hour increments. The watch is held together by a black rubber strap with a textile inlay, and IWC will create 500 copies every year.

If wound, the perpetual calendar will not need to be corrected until 2100, while the moonphase will be accurate for 577.5 years. Only 150 pieces will be produced each year.

Both TOP GUN Ceratanium watches are now available at IWC, with prices starting at $16,900 USD and going up to $48,000 USD.
