Demna has a special understanding of the influence of celebrity, which the creative director demonstrated once more at Balenciaga‘s Fall 2022 couture show.
The show, which was held at Cristobal Balenciaga’s Parisian salon, began with a series of distinctly Demna looks: matte black bodysuits worn by models with full-face Daft Punk masks.
Since it is Couture Week, the austerity of the show quickly gave way to pageantry. Kim Kardashian entered the runway, unmasked of course, setting the stage for a parade of famous people chosen to debut Demna’s newest.
Nicole Kidman was dressed in liquid foil, Naomi Campbell gracefully walked the runway in a sculptural gown with a huge hoop skirt, and Dua Lipa made her runway debut in a highlighter yellow dress with an impressive train.
Additionally, Bella Hadid performed her magic in an emerald column gown, and Christine Quinn from Selling Sunset shone in a sequined dress.
