NemeN‘s technical world and PUMA‘s sporting attributions have collided for Fall/Winter 2022, with the two brands collaborating on new, old, and ultimately functional clothing and shoes for a collection that stands out this season.
The collection, which is centered on a color story inspired by prototype supercars, consists of jackets, pants, knits, and accessories that each sport a custom-made camouflage design — in the same haphazard fashion as those that typically adorn supercars to keep spying eyes at bay.
These prints distort and confuse the eye, causing it to miss certain shapes or design details on cars, and NemeN applies this to clothing and shoes to create something that hides its identity while also revealing technical details.
The 2-in-1 Three-Layer Jacket for example, which includes a disc system for adjusting the hood.
Has a removable liner to make it more versatile on a daily basis, whereas garments like the Utility Vest have an elastic belt to take it into the military realm.
Accessories like a balaclava and gloves add to the overall theme, while two footwear styles — the PUMA Suede and PUMA Blaze of Glory Mid — complete the NemeN makeover.
The Suede is covered in a “Spy Camo” design here, disrupting the shoe’s classic smooth-flowing shapes and contours as the pattern conceals the details. Despite this, details such as branding on the tongue, a webbing heel tab, and branding on the heel can be seen. For the Blaze of Glory Mid, NemeN used a knitted construction to literally weave in technical highlights as threads glistened against a black backdrop.
On November 19, NemeN x PUMA apparel will be available on PUMA’s website and at select retailers worldwide, with prices ranging from approximately $47 USD to $675 USD. In the first quarter of 2023, the PUMA Suede and PUMA Blaze of Glory Mid will be available.
