Peter Parker is from New York, so whether he’s walking through the streets of Queens or swinging through the skyscrapers of Manhattan as Spider-Man, he knows the value of a new pair of sneakers.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to hit theaters in the summer of 2023, and it was recently revealed that the film will be accompanied by a brand-new Spidey-approved Air Jordan 1.
The news of the new sneakers comes as no surprise to Marvel or Jordan Brand fans, as Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 1 “Origin Story,” a comic-inspired twist on the OG Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” with blue detailing and Ben-Day dots the last time Spider-Man went on an animated adventure (2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse).
There is currently no official word on what the design will look like: the image above is a mock-up created by zsneakerheadz, a reputable leak and early information source who also revealed the shoe’s arrival.
A release date for these Spider-Man-inspired Air Jordan 1s has yet to be announced as of this writing. However, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on June 2, 2023, so it’s not unreasonable to expect the Air Jordan 1 to follow suit.
Pricing information will be released soon, but a full family size run should be available.
