Palace and Vans Unleash the Low-Down

Palace and Vans are back at it again, teaming up for a collaboration that brings us the no-nonsense Palace Vans Low. No fancy names or cryptic references here, just a straightforward approach to sneaker fusion. This fresh silhouette combines the best of two iconic shoes: the Half Cab and Mike Carroll‘s legendary Skate MC. But wait, there’s more! The collaboration also includes two rad t-shirts and a special short film.

In classic black or crisp white, the Palace Vans Low showcases the perforated detailing from Carroll’s Skate MC, while borrowing branding and collar elements from the Half Cab. It’s a mash-up that results in a unique aesthetic, blending the best of both worlds. Look closely, and you’ll spot the co-branded Half Cab-style badge on the collar’s lateral half.

The tongue displays Palace and Vans branding, and to top it off, the familiar red Vans logo on the heel gets a Palace twist. Functionality-wise, this collab doesn’t disappoint either. The Palace Vans Low boasts Vans Skateboarding’s top-notch tech, including impact-absorbing Popcush insoles, durable Duracap underlays, and grippy Sickstick outsoles.

But that’s not all! The collaboration also introduces matching t-shirts in black and white. Sporting the bold inscription “Palace Low” across the center, with a cheeky “Palace Vans 2023” logo underneath, these tees perfectly complement the sneaker release. And if you thought that was the end of the fun, think again. Palace and Vans have cooked up an Internal Only film to celebrate their collaboration. Starring Palace and Vans pro skateboarders Rory Milanes and Danny Brady, the film hilariously walks “Vans employees” through the distinct attributes of the Palace Vans Low.

It’s a tongue-in-cheek guide that guarantees some laughs, with Milanes opening the show by teasing, “If you’re watching this video, it’s because you work for Vans.” As they stroll through an office setting, Brady adds a touch of humor, exclaiming, “It’s even got a bloody sock in it,” to which Milanes chimes in, “You’re gonna save a fortune on socks this year.”
