Panerai Introduces Two Special Forces Submersible Editions

Panerai has released two new tough Submersible models inspired by Italian special forces. The color palettes of the Panerai Submersible Forze Speciali Experience Edition and Submersible Forze Speciali are green and camouflage and blue and black, respectively.

Both watches have 47mm black-DLC coated titanium bodies with unidirectional ceramic bezels and Super-LumiNova hour markers created from solid blocks.

The chronograph is unusual in that it uses two centrally located hands to record elapsed seconds and minutes. The bicompax configuration tiny seconds and chronograph hours subdials are shaped like target bull’s eyes and are located at three and nine o’clock.

The pusher at eight of the clock controls restart and reset, with Start/Stop at ten o’clock, while the pusher at four of the clock controls a ‘Time To Target’ countdown, with repeated pushes required to set the chronograph hand to the desired position before activating it with the pusher at ten o’clock.

Panerai’s P.9100/R automated flyback chronograph movement with a three-day battery reserve powers the timepiece.

The Panerai Submersible Forze Speciali Experience Edition, as the name suggests, includes an invitation to ‘join Italian Special Forces troops in a series of exercises,’ while the Submersible Forze Speciali will be limited to 300 pieces annually.

Both pieces are currently available from Panerai for £47,500 GBP ($54,100 USD) and £25,500 GBP ($29,000 USD), respectively.
