Porsche Design is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a special auction package that includes a rebuilt 1972 911 S 2.4 Targa and a matching Chronograph 1.
The lot, which will be auctioned by RM Sothebys in New York, includes a one-of-a-kind 1972 Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa “50 Years of Porsche Design Edition,” which has been completely rebuilt in “close collaboration” with Porsche Classic and is painted black with satin platinum accents.
The Chronograph 1 – Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa edition is based on the original F.A. Porsche-designed watch, which was Porsche Design’s first product and the first black-coated watch. The winding rotor, which replicates the iconic five-spoke “Fuchsfelge” wheels used on the car, is what distinguishes this one-of-a-kind example.
Bidding begins on November 29th at 12:00 a.m. and ends on December 14th, with a high estimate of $375,000 USD.
