Puma Brings Its ‘80s-Born “Slipstream” Sneaker Back to Life In a New Collection

With a rejuvenated version of their “Slipstream” sneaker, PUMA is throwing things back.

The original iteration of the sneaker was produced in the 1980s to help basketball players, and now, in 2022, the design has been brought back to life with a modern-day twist.

The “Slipstream,” which is available in both men’s and women’s sizes, mixes basketball DNA with a clean remake. The midsole has been molded with revised overlay panels and a remodeled collar construction, while the sneaker’s tooling and top have been given a more contemporary feel.

The new “Slipstream” design is accompanied by a campaign that follows Neymar Jr, LaMelo Ball, Danna Paolo, Romeo Beckham, and other PUMA fans. A short video accompanying the campaign follows the group as they go on a galactic voyage to new vistas.

The sneaker is currently available for £95 ($110 USD) on the official PUMA website and select shops.
