Seiko has just collaborated with the Japan Railways Group on a limited edition watch commemorating the 25th anniversary of the 500 Series Shinkansen’s debut.
The watch is themed after the Evangelion Shinkansen and is known as the “500 TYPE EVA.”
The watch, which is limited to 5,000 pieces, features a chronograph function, a 24-hour time subdial, a day/date function, and the color scheme of the EVA Unit-01.
The 1 o’clock position incorporates a driver’s cab window motif and an image of a bullet train windshield into the curved hardlex glass as a nod to the bullet train. The watch is finished with unique branding and a box that features the NERV logo on the front.
The watch is now available in Japan for 54,780 JPY (approximately $370 USD).
