Thom Browne Opens Mid-Century Modern San Francisco Flagship

Thom Browne has opened his first San Francisco store in Jackson Square. The brand’s latest collaboration with architect Flavio Albanese of ASA Studioalbanese, who supervised the store‘s design, is located inside the legendary Yeon Building, which is claimed to have hosted the first French embassy in San Francisco.

With rows of fluorescent tube lighting, white Calcutta and Carrara marble floors, and banker grey Bardiglio and Carrara marble walls, the 1,250-square-foot interior champions the designer’s distinctive mid-century modern style.

The room is furnished with minimalist furnishings from American and French designers. Jacques Adnet provided seating and lights, T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings designed the store’s desk, Knoll provided office chairs, McCobb designed benches, Mathie Mategot provided coffee tables, and Maison Jansen designed the display etagere.

Two shop spaces are dedicated to the imprint’s classic men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, tailoring, and accessories. Dressing rooms can be found right off the main floor, along with vignettes for Thom Browne eyewear and Vetyver scents.

Thom Browne’s flagship store in San Francisco is currently open at 432 Jackson Street.
