50 Cent Is Working on a ‘8 Mile’ TV Adaptation

50 Cent has devised an intriguing strategy to advance Eminem‘s legacy. The artist said on the chat show Big Boy’s Neighborhood that he is working on an 8 Mile TV show.

Eminem plays Jimmy Smith, a want to be rapper attempting to launch his career in gritty Detroit, in the 2002 semi-autobiographical film. The film was met with critical praise, and an 8 Mile soundtrack album including some of Eminem’s hits was released with it.

“I wanna bring, I’m gonna bring, 8 Mile to television,” 50 Cent said on the show.

50 Cent said that Eminem is aware of and supports his ambitions to adapt the film for television.

“It’s gonna be big,” he continued. “I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100. I think it should be there for [Eminem’s] legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”

When asked how far along he is with the adaptation, the artist claimed it is already “in motion.”
