The New Balance 2002R is a silhouette that has consistently found its way to the frontlines in the lifestyle category of New Balance’s footwear in recent memory due to its impressive output.

We have seen it in collaborative form thanks to artists like thisisneverthat, Bryant Giles, and AURALEE, but now that a fresh “Rain Cloud” colorway has been released, we are being drawn to its inline offerings.

The Boston-based sportswear company chooses a variety of lighter neutrals for this most recent iteration, dressing it up from head to toe. The majority of the upper is covered by its name-brand color, which flows over the shaggy suede overlays that are situated on the quarters, heels, and toe tips.

The lower heels are equipped with perforations and “Sweet Caramel” outers, and the laces, mesh underlays, and N logos are all given a “Angora” tint for some brighter contrasting. The midsoles are loaded with N-ERGY cushioning to offer a stable and responsive ride.

These are currently only available through New Balance China for 999 ($148 USD). A US release date has not yet been announced.
