Following a Dr. Martens collaboration earlier this month, Samuel Ross’ A-COLD-WALL* teams up with Converse for the first time since 2020 to release the A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Aeon Active CX, a pair of laceless low-top sneakers.
Ross chooses a futuristic performance-oriented sneaker to impart his signature touch instead of turning to Converse’s classic Chuck Taylors or Jack Purcells, as seen in most other collaborations.
Silver paneled mesh uppers with distorted seasonal codes across the laterals and pull tabs skillfully integrated into the tongue and heel sections are featured on the upcoming laceless sneakers. Soft orange hues line the collars, and the thick teal midsoles below have a rough concrete texture, which is a recurring theme in Ross’ work.
The stacked ACW logos along the forefoot are highlighted by a swath of yellow, and icy semi-translucent rubber pieces extend from the upper heel section, echoing the shape and materials used for the outsole grips.
The sneakers will also be available in black and neon yellow, though it’s unclear whether this will be a Friends and Family release.
