Arsham’s passion for cars has been evident throughout his career, as evidenced by his custom Porsche 930A Turba, crystal-eroded 1968 Ford Mustang GT, and other sculptures. With this latest project, the artist creates a link between Formula One, the pinnacle of motorsports, and contemporary art.

The piece is part of Arsham’s Fictional Archaeology series, in which iconic figures and objects from pop culture are reimagined as future artifacts. Arsham casts the piece in selenite, quartz, and amethyst crystal erosions, drawing inspiration from Hamilton’s love of crystals and their healing properties.
