A special edition of the Air Jordan 36 is another way that Jordan Brand honors one of the NBA‘s rising stars. The most recent version of it pays homage to Luka Doncic, the star player for the Dallas Mavericks, and his moniker “El Matador.”
As a nod to Doncic’s time spent playing for Real Madrid, the shoe is decorated in a color scheme that combines Chile Red, University Red, Metallic Gold, and Black. This particular pair of Air Jordan 36s is made with an all-red base and features gold detailing, which was heavily influenced by the traditional Spanish traje de luces bullfighting attire.
The word “El Matador” is stitched onto the inner tongues and back heel tabs as an additional detail. The shoe is finished off with red outsole and gold lace tips.
