Chicago-based object designer Benjamin Edgar has collaborated with Vans for the first time, according to the brand’s extensive list of collaborators.
Edgar’s previous works include unique items, both practical and impractical, as well as apparel. Vans approaches the Half Cab Decon VLT LX and Authentic One-Piece NL VLT with a signature “knurled rubber” vulcanization.
Starting with the Half Cab, colorways of “White/Safety Orange” and “White/White” are available, allowing for a bold or subtle look. Its deconstructed design eliminates the upper’s padding and replaces it with the aforementioned vulcanization on the lower panels. The Authentic, in a “White/Bone” colorway, features a minimalistic yet conceptual design with a single piece upper.
Its heel panel and toe box feature the same exaggerated “knurled rubber” as the Half Cab pairs. Throughout the collection, co-branding elements include “BENJAMIN EDGAR, A VULCANIZED COMPANY” text on the lateral’s midsole and a “OBJECT” tag on the medial.
The Half Cab and Authentic from Benjamin Edgar’s Vault by Vans footwear collection will be available on November 4th. Products will only be available through Benjamin Edgar’s website.
