Avant Arte has established itself as a go-to destination for must-have releases in the world of artist editions. The collective has amassed a steady roster of well-known and up-and-coming artists from a variety of artistic disciplines.
Cleon Peterson is the most recent addition to the family. The Return depicts a primal horseback rider in sleek, blackened bronze by the acclaimed American artist. Peterson comments on humanity’s troubled history with power and corruption, as he has in previous studies.
“Images and ideas like this act as a romantic fantasy promising to return people to an idealized past. In my work I highlight these connections – showing how destructive they can be,” said the artist in a statement.
The Return will be available in two sizes: the first is a limited edition of 25, measuring 11.813.84.33 inches and costing $6,554 USD; the larger sculpture is a limited edition of ten, measuring 20.925.68.3 inches and costing $16,384 USD. Avant Arte will release both editions on June 20 at 9 a.m. ET.
