Despite Missing This Year’s Met Gala, Rihanna Graciously Leaves Her Mark

Rihanna may not have attended the 2022 Met Gala in person, but she made her presence known. Vogue and The Met collaborated to honor the singer-turned-entrepreneur, who was turned into a marble statue.

“Shut down The Met in marble! What’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! Y’all bad for this one!” the mom-to-be wrote on Instagram of the sculpture inspired from her latest Vogue cover.

Riri’s statue paid tribute to “Eirene (The Personification of Peace),” who according to Vogue ”is usually the highest-profile marble goddess @themetmuseum Greco-Roman galleries. But now we’ve got @badgalriri, straight off this month’s Vogue cover.”

Since announcing her pregnancy in late January, Rihanna has been making headlines.
The singer, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, has received praise for her one-of-a-kind maternity look. “My body is doing incredible things right now, and I’m not going to be ashamed of that,” she told the publication for her latest cover story. This time should feel celebratory. Because why should you be hiding your pregnancy?”
