Rihanna may not have attended the 2022 Met Gala in person, but she made her presence known. Vogue and The Met collaborated to honor the singer-turned-entrepreneur, who was turned into a marble statue.
“Shut down The Met in marble! What’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! Y’all bad for this one!” the mom-to-be wrote on Instagram of the sculpture inspired from her latest Vogue cover.
Riri’s statue paid tribute to “Eirene (The Personification of Peace),” who according to Vogue ”is usually the highest-profile marble goddess @themetmuseum Greco-Roman galleries. But now we’ve got @badgalriri, straight off this month’s Vogue cover.”
Since announcing her pregnancy in late January, Rihanna has been making headlines.
The singer, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, has received praise for her one-of-a-kind maternity look. “My body is doing incredible things right now, and I’m not going to be ashamed of that,” she told the publication for her latest cover story.
