From London to New York: Mowalola’s Latest Collaboration

Mowalola Ogunlesi‘s eponymous label Mowalola has been making waves in the fashion world lately. After partnering with New Balance for a pair of 90/60 sneakers in two colorways, the brand has now teased a pair of Timberland boots as its next footwear collaboration.

Mowalola is a Central Saint Martins graduate who chose to forgo her master’s degree to focus on growing her label. Her second-ever fashion show for Fall/Winter 2019 in London was a hit, with the loud, provocative, and uncompromising aesthetic of her designs quickly catching on. Her pieces have been spotted on figures such as Drake, Skepta, and Naomi Campbell. In 2020, the Nigerian-born, London-based designer was appointed design director for Ye’s venture with GAP before stepping down to focus once again on her personal label.

As Timberland prepares to release its 2023 collaborations, Mowalola has inserted itself into the mix. The brand will be releasing classic Timberland 6-inch boots featuring New York Yankees logo perforations across the toe box and laterals. This collaboration follows Timberland’s partnerships with Stüssy, Edison Chen, Samuel Ross, Nina Chanel Abney, Humberto Leon, Suzanne Oude Hengel, and Christopher Raeburn for the Super73 initiative.

The Mowalola x Timberland boots are set to launch on February 18, so stay tuned for more details.
