Isabel Marant‘s Paris Men’s Week showcase brought grunge and ’90s style aesthetics to the forefront for Spring/Summer 2023.

Marant’s iconic throwback approach to fashion is evident in the new collection, which features acid-washed denim in lavender and blue shades alongside batik terrycloth textures and tie-dye fabrics. For SS23, a slouched silhouette returns in the form of roomy trousers with a tapered hem and thin knit tops that allow for ease of movement and breathability.

Denim is always a staple in any Marant collection, but for SS23, it promises to be bleached, lilac, and acid-washed – as if melted in the sun at a heatwave festival – with signature pieces from the decade resurfacing as layerings of stripes, camouflage, and Aztec prints.

Workwear was elevated in conjunction with Marant’s subtle yet meticulous craft, as cuts were nonchalant, giving way to a voluminous silhouette. The collection’s lightness and touch were emphasized by creamy pastels, sequin-inspired prints, and signature terry cloth fabric. Meanwhile, neon hints, sportswear styles, and graphic details guided us into the night, accompanied by a thumping techno beat.

Marant’s new season colorways include tangerine, copper, forest green, yellow, and pink, in addition to the soft palette of washed denim. The bright colors are fashioned into patterned bomber jackets, full-zip sweatshirts, short sets, and matching accessories such as bucket hats, trucker hats, and sunglasses.
