With a new “GAMMA+” sneaker design that is motivated by cancer prevention and the lives that a diagnosis can change, KangaROOS is extending its seven-store GAMMA+ imprint.
A portion of the sales from the “Fuck Cancer” shoe will be given to the German Bone Marrow Donor Center in the fight against blood cancer. The shoe was created in partnership with the cancer awareness organization NOBU and the footwear retailer Acribik.
The store manager at Acribik founded NOBU, which stands for “None Other But Us,” after being diagnosed with cancer. He was motivated to raise awareness of the disease so that those who are affected, whether they are a relative or themselves are suffering, will have more support.
The new “Fuck Cancer” silhouette’s upper is made entirely of suede and corduroy and lined with a padded and breathable mesh along the heel-side pads. The Dynacoil damping system, which vaporizes all liquids that enter the shoe, has been added, along with a new heel stabilizer, to the EVA foam sole, enhancing comfort when wearing the sneaker for extended periods of time.
The KangaROOS x Acribik “Fuck Cancer” sneaker is currently only available through the Acribik website, but starting on June 16 it will also be accessible through the GAMMA+ brand and the KangaROOS website.
