Margiela Has Turned Reebok’s DMX Into a Rubber Slip-On

While Reebok works with a diverse range of artists, designers, and brands, its collaboration with Maison Margiela has stood out in recent years. The duo has a diverse history, whether it is reimagining classics with a Margiela twist or transforming them into something new, such as the various Instapump Fury variants.

To elaborate, the Zig CR is the most recent project from the ongoing collaboration. After quietly debuting as a new collaborative croafer via Machine-A, the shoe has now been officially released by Maison Margiela.

The Maison Margiela x Reebok Zig CR arrives in three colorways, beginning with a “Triple White” and ending with a “Triple Black” that is then converted into a graphic tricolor in the “Black/Red” colorway.

The laceless slip-on is inspired by 19th-century vulcanized sport shoes, sandals, and loafers, and fits Maison Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2022 Co-Ed collection theme. Key details include an EVA-infused sole with TPU inserts, a durable TPU upper with a rubberized leather toe guard, and Margiela’s classic decortiqué technique, which involves cutting an object down to its core structure.

All three colorways are now available for $990 USD at Maison Margiela’s website and select retailers worldwide.
