Maserati Teases “Project24” a Track-Focused Hypercar

Maserati seeks to participate in the action with “Project24,” a track-only experiential vehicle that is not road-homologated and applies what the manufacturer has discovered with its MC20 to the racetrack.

This extremely rare car, which will only be produced in 62 units, will only be used for racing, so those who manage to obtain one will probably find it to be a car that rivals other track-only models from manufacturers like Ferrari and Porsche in terms of strength.

Maserati used the MC20’s V6 Nettuno engine and added new turbochargers to create the new vehicle, increasing power to 740 HP and introducing numerous cutting-edge improvements.

Maserati is focused on lightness rather than power, unlike other brands. As a result, “Project24” is anticipated to weigh less than 1,250kg, or about the same as a small hatchback. It accomplishes this by building a completely unique carbon fiber body that is covered in specific natural fiber components and has a ton of aerodynamic properties. Windows are made of Lexan, a lightweight polycarbonate.

Other features include an ultra-lightweight central monocoque made of carbon fiber, center-locking 18″ forged wheels, a two-seat interior setup designed for racing, and a ton of technology and equipment to keep the car on the road. For instance, Maserati equips the vehicle with slick tires, a racing clutch, limited-slip self-locking mechanical differential, a roll cage, vented Brembo brakes, and race-spec calipers.

Owners of the upcoming vehicle will enjoy professional track experiences and have access to Maserati for on-track assistance.
