Finally, a fantastic New Balance collaboration aimed squarely towards women. Naked, a Copenhagen-based retailer, has collaborated with New Balance on two new silhouettes, the 1080 and the 725.
Naked has become a go-to for all the best partnerships as one of the leading places for women’s footwear and shoes. The label has previously collaborated with adidas, ASICS, Reebok, and Vans, and has established itself as an integral component of the streetwear culture.
This year, New Balance has seen a slew of successful partnerships, from JJJJound, KITH, and Aimé Leon Dore to Casablanca and Stone Island – but they’ve all been very male-oriented, and practically impossible to find in smaller sizes. It’s encouraging to see NB make an effort toward a more female-oriented, inclusive partnership.
The Naked x New Balance 725 comes in a cream colorway with blue “UV Glow” accents throughout the top. The retro-inspired design has grown in popularity, and the color palette is both old and timeless.
The 1080 includes the same off-white “Cloud Cream” top but with a more monochrome approach, with “Sea Salt.” details. The shoe features a stretchy knitted upper and a thicker rubber sole, making it ideal for extended runs and walks. The number one objective with this silhouette is comfort.
As a nod to Naked’s commitment to community, the collaboration is dubbed the “Community” pack, is “telling the story of diverse individuals who exemplify a fearless approach to creativity. In the same vein, New Balance has always stood for something bigger than sneakers, championing those driven by their passions.”
The collaboration will be available exclusively at Naked on December 9, with prices starting at €135 and going up to €200. The 1080 will also have a global premiere on December 16th, when it will be available for purchase through New Balance outlets.
