The new sneaker from New Balance features rising tennis star Coco Gauff. But this time, New Balance has unveiled Gauff’s first signature sneaker, replacing the collaborative silhouette that served as the first joint venture between the parties.
A mid-top sneaker with a 90s-inspired design and advanced performance technology is the New Balance Coco CG1. Gauff made sure the design of her first shoe reflected her identity as a sister, daughter, and friend.
A white upper with inserts of purple, fuchsia, sunset orange, and gold completes the retro look. A black NDurance sole with multicolored detailing and a black and white FuelCell midsole go well with the upper.
“The entire team at New Balance from design, to marketing, truly cares about me as a person and not just an athlete and that relationship allowed us to create the Coco CG1,” said Coco Gauff in a release. “I signed with New Balance at such a young age and I am so excited to know that I will continue to work with them for a long time into the future! The Coco CG1 is a vintage-looking shoe with a modern twist, and I am so excited to get this in stores and see how people style it!”
The New Balance Coco CG1 will be available online on August 26 in “Pompey” and “DigiCoco” colorways for $170 USD.
