New Balance‘s Made in UK collection has a new star in town, and it’s a collaboration that’s turning heads. Teaming up with Stone Island, they’ve cooked up a fresh pair of kicks, the 991v2.
While New Balance and Stone Island have already dropped some hot footwear collabs, like the stylish 574 and the high-tech FuelCell C_1, this latest creation takes a more understated route. The 991v2 sports a cool combo of olive, grey, and black, drawing inspiration from the gritty industrial spaces that double as the backdrop for venues, clubs, and everyday scenes, from trains to pubs and terraces.
The sneaker‘s got a mesh upper that pays homage to latticed metal. It’s layered with texturized leather, giving it an edgy vibe. Plus, there are reflective accents that add to the industrial aesthetic. Of course, you’ll find the classic New Balance “N” on the sides and Stone Island’s Compass logo on the tongue.
The Stone Island x New Balance Made in UK 991v2 drops on October 4, with exclusive availability on the Stone Island website and select stores. China gets its taste on October 9 in select Stone Island stores and via WeChat Store. Finally, the rest of the world can snag a pair on the official New Balance website starting October 18.
