New ‘God of War Ragnarök’ Trailer Teases Epic Showdown Between Kratos and Thor

God of War Ragnarök, the ninth overall installment in the God of War series, was first confirmed by Sony in September 2020. Although the game was supposed to be released in 2021, it was delayed due to the pandemic and the recent health difficulties of Christopher Judge, the voice of protagonist Kratos.

Sony released another clip for Ragnarök during its State of Play event nearly two years later, as it prepares for the game’s long-awaited release.

The new Ragnarök plot teaser begins three years after the previous incarnation of the franchise, with Kratos being mocked by his opponents, who call to him as a fake god.

It looks that his own son, Atreus, is concealing something from him. While Atreus insists that he cannot tell Kratos, he merely wants his father to believe him. The video concludes with a quick glimpse of what appears to be a fast-paced battle between Kratos and Thor.

Ragnarök is meant to be the final part in the Norse story, however it is unlikely to be the final God of War game. On November 9, Ragnarök for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will be released.
