norda Taps Satisfy for norda 001 Trail Runner in Shimmering Silver

Satisfy and norda first collaborated in July, creating a “Jadeite”-themed take on the 001 trail runner, and now they are returning to the wild outdoors with their second attempt, a shimmering silver-swathed variation of the 001.

It is as swift as a bullet, twice as stylish, and even enters the realm of web3 via a unique “token” software.

norda’s bread and butter is their cutting-edge technology, and it is all here: seamless uppers are made of bio-based Dyneema, which is five times stronger than Kevlar and half the weight, midsoles use Vibram’s SLE foam compound, and outsoles have a Vibram Megagrip traction pattern that pays homage to norda’s Canadian roots.

These outsoles are likewise dressed in basic gum to provide an earthy counterpoint to the space-age upper half and midsole. Norda typically keeps branding to a minimum so that the silhouette and materials can speak for itself, but there is a bit of funkiness here owing to a peace symbol on the heel tabs and bespoke spellout graphis on the insoles, collar, and lace tips.

Moving from the physical to the digital realm, the first 50 customers who purchased a pair of the Satisfy x norda 001 were given a special NFT “token” that is linked to the Strava app. The token will alter over the next eight weeks as receivers acquire Strava mileage: the longer they run, the more it changes.

The NFT tokens have all been claimed, but the Satisfy x norda 001 in silver is now available through the Satisfy and norda webstores. The price of each pair is $350 USD.
