Paris Fashion Week Unveils Cecilie Bahnsen’s Sneaker Sensation

Cecilie Bahnsen, the visionary behind unconventional sneaker collaborations, deserves a place on your radar. Her ongoing partnership with ASICS has left a lasting impact, not only challenging sneaker conventions but also creating a fervor every time a new silhouette hits the shelves. Now, at Paris Fashion Week SS24, Bahnsen unveils her latest collaboration, a captivating transformation of the ASICS GEL GT-2160 into a hybrid Mary Jane shoe.

While originally designed as a women’s silhouette, Bahnsen pushes boundaries by offering sizes up to US 10.5, blurring the lines of traditional sneaker categorizations. Embracing a rule-breaking spirit, these sneakers abandon the familiar vamp and embrace a velcro strap in metallic silver or gloss black, adorned with intricate floral detailing.

Intriguing transparent paneling, showcasing captivating floral prints, cleverly distracts the eye from the iconic ASICS branding on the shoe’s medial and lateral walls. Another delightful touch is the two-eyelet lace setup, playfully resembling a bow on the toe, accompanied by a discreet ASICS logo accent.

Through her Instagram account, Bahnsen shares her inspiration: “Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS; paying homage to the meticulous craftsmanship and passion invested in this collaboration, echoing the artistry behind each shoe. Trainers are displayed on plinths in a raw space creating a striking contrast, merging Cecilie Bahnsen’s feminine universe with ASICS’s technical appeal.”

The limited quantities of these sneakers are set to be released on Cecilie Bahnsen’s website starting July 5.
