Nike is taking a small break from its traditional collaborators to make a pit stop in Houston, Texas, more especially in Rice Village. This month, the Beaverton imprint is teaming up with Premium Goods to create an Air Force 1 Low collection.
Jennifer Ford, the boutique’s proprietor, was inspired by her fondness for and previous employment in the jewelry industry. She reinvents the iconic hoops-turned-lifestyle silhouette with a plethora of textural blends, handmade processes, and luxurious color palettes.
While the sneakers appear simple, they are embellished with beads affixed to the Swooshes and heel overlays, as well as quilted quarter panels with tiny star-shaped cut-outs. Tongues’ conventional Nike branding has been replaced with Premium Goods logos, and the laces have been replaced with rope. Roses also appear inside the metallic gold lace deubres, adding a fun touch.
“The Bella” and “The Sophia” colorways will officially launch on January 20 in-store and via the Premium Goods website for $150 USD a piece.
