Now, a bit later, the streetwear brand ROKIT finally returns to the Chuck 70 with some new LA-inspired inspirations.
Hued in all black, the pair paints an overt resemblance to asphalt and the blacktop basketball courts found throughout the busy city.
Both Ripstop and canvas fabrics run replete throughout the upper in quarters, separated by strips of dark taping — the latter a possible nod to repairs often done to cracked ground. In the middle, the strips intersect at the signature All-Star logo whose usual graphic flair is stitched over by textured fabrics.
Elsewhere, toe caps and midsole walls are treated ordinarily in white while the outsole hides map prints and the tongue touts “Los Angeles 2020… Dedicated to those forever unbroken.”
Although no specific date has been announced yet, you can expect the pair to drop this May at Converse.com and select retailers.
