Introduced in December 2022, the New Balance 2002R with GORE-TEX treatment is back, ready to tackle the upcoming winter season.
These latest renditions of the 2002RX come in two distinct colorways. The first boasts a classic “Concrete” hue with “Harbor” and “Slate” gray accents, while the second opts for a subtler “White” with “Brighton Grey” and “Silver Metallic” accents.
Respecting its source of inspiration, the classic 2002R silhouette, this GORE-TEX version maintains the same exterior styling and panel placements. However, internally, it steps up its game with enhanced durability and utility. An inner membrane is in place to shield against the elements, ensuring your feet stay dry and comfortable.
Unlike many GORE-TEX-branded shoes that prominently display their tech, this iteration takes a more understated approach. The only noticeable “GORE-TEX” branding can be found discreetly at the heel, in small black lettering. It’s safe to assume that the branding also appears on the insoles.
Both GORE-TEX-equipped 2002RX models are now available for purchase, with a retail price of $180 USD each, directly on New Balance’s official website.
