IKEA has unveiled the first items from its upcoming 20-piece joint collection with house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia, following the release of collaborative FRAKTA bags designed to hold 100 vinyl records.
The collection, dubbed “OBEGRNSAD,” which is Swedish for “unlimited,” aims to democratize music production at home by allowing “those with limited budgets but unlimited creativity” to fully unleash their passions.
The OBEGRNSAD record player, lounge chair, and home studio desk were first revealed as part of the IKEA Festival during Milan Design Week in 2022.
The desk features two speaker stands that bring speakers to ear level and a pull-out shelf that makes room for additions to the setup such as a midi keyboard, and is completely covered in SHM’s signature jet black hues.
The semi-reclined armchairs come with adjustable straps that allow for finetuning, making them a comfortable place to unwind and reflect. The collaborative record player, which works with Bluetooth speakers, rounds out the collection.
The SHM x IKEA collection is set to arrive at IKEA shops this fall. In the meantime, the dance music trio is set to begin its U.S. tour starting July 29 at the FTX Arena in Miami, Florida. Stay tuned for additional updates.
