Take a Closer Look at the Jordan Zion 2 “Voodoo”

Zion Williamson has only shown love for the city ever since he was accepted into the New Orleans Pelicans family.

The fact that several footwear colorways in his signature line with Jordan Brand have been devoted to various elements of the Big Easy is one indication, if there is any need for one. The NBA star’s newest Jordan Zion 2 is set to debut this week in a brand-new “Voodoo” colorway, and we have got an up-close look at the shoes.

This colorway makes perfect sense given how important voodoo is to New Orleans culture and the way its residents communicate with their ancestors and spirits. The upper halves are brimming with eye-catching elements drawn from the religion of the African diaspora. To replicate the appearance and texture of a real voodoo doll, exposed stitches are placed on places like the toe boxes, quarters, and heels.

The base is made of suede and canvas. The middle of the throat is covered in fake hair, and the tongues are decorated with Williamson’s distinctive logo. Additionally, the insoles are divided between “Voodoo” text on the left side and “Zion” hits on the right, and the heels are embellished with a skull face to further the superstitious vibe.

Keep an eye out for these, as they will be dropping on July 7 for $140 USD, in retailers like Sneaker Politics.
