LEGO, the Danish toy company known for its interlocking plastic bricks, has created a full-scale, drivable version of the Bugatti Chiron entirely out of LEGO Technic elements. The LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron is a true masterpiece of engineering and creativity, showcasing many of the same design details as the original car.
Made up of 339 different types of LEGO Technic elements, totaling over a million pieces, this LEGO car can accommodate up to two passengers. The car features working doors, a functioning brake pedal, 11 buttons to control the LED lights and motors, replica turning indicator signals, wiper arms, a working speedometer, and a rear spoiler, all made entirely out of Technic elements. The outer shell is coated with a custom “skin” built of interconnected triangular segments, a type of LEGO Technic fabric that can be adjusted to shape the car’s exterior form.
LEGO Group designer Aurelien Rouffiange and his team of 16 specialists worked on the car for over 13,400 man-hours to develop and build this one-of-a-kind vehicle. The car tips the scale at 1,500 kilograms, which is about three-fourths the weight of the original car.
This LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron is not just a model car, it is a fully functional vehicle that showcases the capabilities of the LEGO Technic elements. The car is a testament to the creativity and imagination of the LEGO Group and the boundless possibilities of their products. It is an amazing display of engineering and creativity that is sure to impress car enthusiasts and LEGO fans alike.
