Nike‘s year of anniversaries, which includes the brand’s milestone 50th year in operation, has commemorated styles such as the Air Force 1 and Air Max 97 throughout 2022.
In keeping with this theme, the Swoosh has created another another style for the Air Max 97. This year has seen a lot of love for the Japanese bullet train-inspired sneaker, with notable releases including iconic hues and a collaboration with COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS.
Nike has dressed the Air Max 97 in a mixed material design this time, including corduroy at the mudguard. This colorway was created for the women’s sportswear division and begins with a white Air-infused sole unit and a white mesh base at the top that unites fall-ready elements.
Beginning with the aforementioned mudguard, a brown corduroy with matching Swooshes and pull tabs completes the appearance. The layer above the mudguard is then a darker shade of brown, with the following layer carrying a subtle lime green that also appears on the lacing system, completing the design.
Nike has yet to provide any release information for this brown corduroy women’s Air Max 97 colorway. It will be available in the coming months through Nike and select retailers.
