The creative director of AMBUSH®, Yoon Ahn, reflects on her time spent in Tokyo and the city’s ongoing development for the Resort Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
The brand’s newest collection, which is made up of a variety of characters and vibrant styles, perfectly captures the multifaceted vibrancy of Japan’s capital.
The SS23 pre-collection channels iconic AMBUSH® silhouettes while also introducing fresh identities to celebrate this spirit. The clothing in the collection boasts relaxed silhouettes highlighted by wide nylon pants, oversized shirts, and loose-fit tracksuits, with an almost entirely unisex offering.
The incorporation of various design styles, such as sportswear, workwear, and motorsport, enhances the roomy constructions. Highlights of the collection include dolman sleeve mechanic shirts and denim motorbike jackets in blue, charcoal, and flamingo pink. Workwear and motorsport styles are also featured.
Blazers and overcoats that combine modern and 90s dress notes feature tailoring in typical AMBUSH® style. In addition to their fusion of fashion elements, tailored pieces come in racing green, black, and cerulean hues. Cargo pants, knit tops, and t-shirts are also included in the collection, along with long-sleeve and bowling shirts in tangerine and pink with graphic accents that reference Shibuya rave and house culture.
Accessories come in the form of leather heart bags, large ball chain chokers, heart-shaped padlock jewelry, and more. Unisex footwear options, such as the biker boot, rubber boots, rubber slides, and runners, round out the pre-collection.
