Jonathan Anderson‘s LOEWE consistently creates collections that bring nostalgia, serotonin, and joy into one’s life. LOEWE longs for the sweetest of summer nights.
The same is true of the house’s ongoing collaboration with Paula’s Ibiza, a shop from the 1970s established by Armin Heinemann and Stuart Rudnick that was renowned for its loudly printed clothing and equally wild parties. This spirit caught Anderson’s attention, in part because he visited Ibiza frequently, and has since come to define the LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza collections, which now include a bath line.
Two new essentials in the bath line—a body scrub and cream—repeat the Balearic themes of LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza’s original Eau de Toilette from 2020 and the new “Eclectic” fragrance, created by Jonathan Anderson and the house’s perfumer, Nuria Cruelles, as a unisex scent that promises a heady mix of florals layered with Madagascan mandarin and black pepper.
The new bath line, according to the company, “[allows] one to play with body scent and skin treatment as one does with clothing,” enhancing the free-spiritedness of the clothing line with equally Ibizan scents and textures. For instance, the Ibizan salt crystals, ground olive and grape stones, grapeseed oil, and honey that are all naturally sourced from Spain are combined with the distinctive “Eclectic” scent to create a body scrub that is as rich and succulent on the body as it is on the nose.
The new body cream comes next, which also uses natural ingredients to give the skin an almost water-like quality of hydration and an additional layer of the “Eclectic” scent. The new bath line comes in cylindrical glass jars with wooden caps that both nod to the earlier perfumes and echo the energy of Ibiza’s earthy and naturalistic qualities.
