The latest Need for Speed chapter serves as a reboot for the street racing series, merging an updated yet familiar gameplay system, realistic automobiles, and street art-inspired cel-shaded character designs.
Players will take on the role of a new racer aiming to reach the top of the street league in order to reclaim a “priceless” car stolen from a family repair business.
A$AP Rocky, who arrives in a special Mercedes-Benz 190E and contributes to the soundtrack, leads the “Takeover Scene,” a “precision driving” option that rewards elegance.
Players will gain nitrous boosts for stylish driving while controlling a police “Heat” mechanic. In addition to free updates in the form of new features, modes, and content, the virtual currency-based customization allows for extensive character and car customization.
Need for Speed Unbound will be released for Sony PlayStation 5, Microsoft Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 2.
