The Air Max 1 has been on full throttle all year, as it was the focus of this year’s Air Max Day celebrations, which included collaborations with Concepts, Kasina, and others.
And now it is available in a new “Woman’s Best Friend” colorway, which celebrates a woman’s loving relationship with her dog.
In every sense of the word, this sneaker is cute. The overlays along the mid-foot and heels, as well as the borders of the tongues, have hairy textures reminiscent of a canine. The forefoot is printed with red backdrops, white polka dots, and retro Nike logos, while the rear is styled in pink canvas and adorned with abstract patterns, adding to the shoe’s wild aesthetic.
Nike dressed up the insole units with grassy graphics that are likely symbolic of a dog park, and shapes the ankle eyelets in a dog bone-inspired silhouette to further expand on its pet-inspired motif. A Nike-branded metallic silver hang tag and a red handkerchief are also included with the sneakers.
People in Asia will be able to get their hands on these on June 18 through SNKRS China. At this time, sadly, no US release date has been confirmed.
