Take a Closer Look at the HUF x Nike SB Dunk Low “NYC”

Nike and its SB label still have a slew of collaborations to work through before 2022, but one of the most heartfelt will undoubtedly be its Dunk Low capsule with HUF.

The upcoming project from the California streetwear label is a love letter to its beloved and late founder Keith Hufnagel, who tragically died in 2020 due to brain cancer.

The collection includes three colorways: one dedicated to New York City, another to San Francisco, and a friends and family colorway that nods to both. The former has only recently been revealed through official imagery.

The leather uppers on this version alternate between panels that are dark navy and white, giving the most overt Big Apple nod to the Yankees’ colors. From there, eye-catching details are scattered throughout the base in different locations. HUF branding can be seen on the toe boxes, which are stacked beneath a Swoosh charm.

The words “Keith Forever” are split between each shoe, and the heels are etched with an older version of New York City’s skyline that includes the Statue of Liberty and the twin towers of the World Trade Center. Deconstructing the quarter panels reveals a tie-dye pattern that pays homage to the SB Dunk High collaboration from 2004.

Additionally, the dust bag that the sneakers are packaged in is printed with the trio of colorways in the collection and the insoles are drenched in HUF’s distinctive green hue and come with HUF branding and dog silhouettes.

The release date is expected to be in the fall, but this has yet to be confirmed.
