Take a Look Inside Transparent’s Minimal “Sound Room” in Stockholm

Transparent, a Swedish audio and technology label, has opened its first physical location in Stockholm. The Sound Room is home to Transparent’s signature minimal speakers, as well as a repair and upgrade center dubbed the Circular Center.

With a focus on concrete, white walls, and untreated aluminum furniture, the space reflects Transparent’s design ethos. All of this contrasts with a variety of natural elements surrounding the speakers, including a large boulder, a bonsai tree, and a plant installation. Transparent’s retail concept is exemplified by the first Sound Room, with plans to open new locations with Circular Centers around the world in the future.

Per Brickstad, Transparent’s creative director and co-founder, said in a statement announcing the space’s opening:

“It has long been a dream to offer a physical environment where people can experience Transparent with all their senses. But mainly, the space will include what we call our first Circular Center, where we offer various circular services such as upgrades, repairs or just basic technical support,

Our mission is to create modular electronics that are forever upgradable. We believe products should get better with age and that companies are responsible for removing electronic waste from the world.”

The Stockholm Sound Room is only accessible by appointment. Visit the Transparent website for more information.
